In any of these cases, your tax receipt (predial) may show considerably less built area than actually exists.

The trouble surfaces when the notario's office sends an appraiser to verify your property's measurements before closing. If the figures don't match your tax bill, an appraiser must correct the bill — a step that frequently delays the closing.
